Conclusions

The G7 Ministers determinedly reaffirm their commitment to implementing practically the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, exercising responsible leadership and collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure full inclusion: institutions, third-sector organisations, associations, local communities and the private sector.

The Solfagnano Charter is certainly not a symbolic document, but a basis for real action: the signatory countries commit to transforming the identified priorities into concrete interventions within the G7, promoting international cooperation to make the rights of persons with disabilities a reality throughout the world.

Inclusion is seen as a key element for genuine sustainable development, and the goal is clear: to leave nobody behind. In this context, full support for the Global Disability Summit to be held in Berlin in April 2025 is confirmed.

Finally, it is recognised that many challenges still remain and that the work does not come to an end with this Charter: the G7 nations are committed to maintaining lively discussion and dialogue on the topic of disability during future G7 presidencies, respecting the different leaderships and with the shared goal of building increasingly inclusive societies.
