A topic often relegated to the margins of the political agenda has finally taken center stage.

When it comes to disability, inclusion, and the empowerment of every individual, our country is today a model recognized even abroad, serving as a point of reference for Europe and the world. This is because Italy has completely shifted its paradigm: focusing not on people's limitations, but on their abilities, their value, and their right to participate fully in community life.

Throughout these years of working together, we have achieved major milestones, always placing individuals and their needs at the very core. Thanks to the disability reform, we launched the personalized life plan (progetto di vita), a crucial step toward guaranteeing tailored paths to inclusion and autonomy.

Furthermore, with the first G7 Disability and Inclusion in history hosted in Italy—which led to the signing of the Solfagnano Charter, a document highlighting the vital importance of incorporating the rights of persons with disabilities into global political agendas—we demonstrated that Italy can serve as a beacon of innovation and commitment to inclusion on the international stage.

There is still much work to be done to improve the quality of life for individuals and their families, building a more just, accessible, and inclusive Italy for everyone, as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The journey toward change has begun, and there is no turning back.
